Title | What is a seasonally adjusted index? |
---|---|
Date | 2015-12-15 |
The original index produced based on surveys in general includes economic factors (i.e. business trends and cycles), seasonal factors and irregular factors. Seasonal factors must be removed in order to analyze index trend in the short-term (i.e. vs. the previous month). The original index after removing seasonal factors is called the seasonally adjusted index. KOSTAT uses the X-12-ARIMA method to compile the seasonally adjusted index. |
