- Discussing the establishment and use of government-wide administrative data DBs -
□ Statistics Korea (KOSTAT) held a bilateral video conference with Statistics Mongolia on July 28th at 15:00 p.m. (Wed).
□ This video conference was organized by the Mongolian Statistical Office, which requested the Statistics Korea to share its experience in establishing an administrative data DB, and to examine cases to find ways to utilize the government's integrated database.
□ Mr. Kwang-sup Kim (Deputy Commissioner of Statistics Korea) said, 'We are pleased to continue bilateral cooperation through video conferences despite COVID-19 with the Mongolian Statistics Office, and expect the two countries to solidify their strategy to establish and utilize pan-government administrative data DBs and lay a concrete and practical cooperative foundation in the future.'
□ Batdava Batmunkh, Chairperson of the National Statistics Office of Mongolian, thanked Statistics Korea for improving the information and communication technology infrastructure, and for establishing the Mongolian National Statistical Integrated Database (MONSIS). he also thanked KOSTAT for supporting the video conferencing system which hosted the International Population Census Conference in December of last year.
□ At this meeting, Statistics Korea introduced for-profit corporate statistics and newlyweds statistics as examples of building administrative data and statistics which make use of such data, while the Mongolia Statistics Office introduced their government’s integrated database, business statistics, and vital statistics.
