|Title||Regional Economic Trends in the Second Quarter of 2014|
□ In the second quarter of 2014, the Mining and Manufacturing Production Index showed a decrease in Sejong,
Jeonnam and Gyeongnam due to a slowdown in 'Electronic Components' and 'Vessels'. In the meantime,
the Mining and Manufacturing Production Index showed an increase in Daejeon, Gwangju and Gyeonggi
owing to a favourable trend in 'Motor Vehicles' and 'Electronic Components'.
□ The Retail Sales Index of Large-Scale Retail Stores showed a rise in Jeju and Seoul owing to a favourable trend in
'Cosmetics' and 'Food and Beverages'. The Retail Sales Index of Large-Scale Retail Stores showed a drop in Gwangju
and Chungbuk due to a slowdown in 'Footwear and Bags' and 'Clothing'.
□ The number of employed persons recorded a decrease in Ulsan, Jeonbuk and Jeonnam. Meanwhile, the number of
employed persons recorded an increase in the other regions including Gwangju, Gyeonggi and Chungbuk owing to a
favourable trend in 'Accommodation and Food Service Activities', 'Manufacturing' and
'Wholesale and Retail Trade'.
□ The Consumer Price Index expanded the upward trend in most regions including Gwangju, Seoul and Gyeongnam.
The downward but stable trend of the Consumer Price Index slowed down.
