□ In the first quarter of 2017, the number of 'Korean native cattle and beef cattle' and pigs recorded an increase compared to the first quarter of 2016. Whereas, the number of dairy cattle, layers, broilers and ducks recorded a decrease compared to the first quarter of 2016. □ The number of 'Korean native cattle and beef cattle' amounted to 2,642 thousand in the first quarter of 2017. This figure rose by 46 thousand (1.8%) from the same quarter of the previous year, but dropped by 75 thousand (-2.8%) from the previous quarter. □ The number of dairy cattle was 400 thousand in the first quarter of 2017. This figure fell by 9 thousand (-2.1%) from the same quarter of the previous year and 4 thousand (-1.1%) from the previous quarter. □ The number of pigs totaled 10,328 thousand in the first quarter of 2017. This figure went up by 12 thousand (0.1%) from the same quarter of the previous year, but went down by 39 thousand (-0.4%) from the previous quarter. □ The number of layers totaled 51,608 thousand in the first quarter of 2017. The figure decreased by 18,570 thousand (-26.5%) from the same quarter of the previous year and 19,435 thousand (-27.4%) from the previous quarter. □ The number of broilers was 79,332 thousand in the first quarter of 2017. This figure fell by 7,209 thousand (-8.3%) from the same quarter of the previous year and 8,498 thousand (-9.7%) from the previous quarter. □ The number of ducks amounted to 5,570 thousand in the first quarter of 2017. This figure declined by 3,942 thousand (-41.4%) from the same quarter of the previous year and 2,539 thousand (-31.3%) from the previous quarter. ※ For more information, refer to the attached file. |
