- The life expectancy at birth stood at 81.9 years in 2013, which went up by 0.5 year from 2012. The life expectancy at birth for males and females marked 78.5 years and 85.1 years, respectively. - In 2013, the probability of dying from malignant neoplasms and pneumonia showed a rise for males and females compared to 2012. - In 2013, the life expectancy at birth of Korean males was 1.0 year higher than the average of OECD member countries.
