- The population of the world is projected to rise from 7.32 billion in 2015 to 9.96 billion in 2060. The population of South Korea is projected to drop from 51 million in 2015 to 44 million in 2060. - The share of people aged 65 or more in the world is predicted to rise from 8.2 percent in 2015 to 17.6 percent in 2060. The share of people aged 65 or more in South Korea is predicted to rise from 13.1 percent in 2015 to 40.1 percent in 2060. - The total fertility rate of South Korea stood at 1.23 children per woman in the period 2010~2014, which ranked the 4th lowest in the world. In the meantime, the life expectancy at birth of South Korea recorded 81.3 years in the period 2010~2013, which ranked the 14th highest in the world.
