  • Statistics Korea Participates in the Fourth OECD World Forum Statistics Korea Participates in the Fourth OECD World Forum
    • The 4th OECD World Forum was held on October16-19,2012 in New Delhi, India. The objectives of this forum were to acknowledge the limitations of existing GDP - focused approaches in measuring wellbeing and social progress and to generate discussion on economic, social and environmental factors influencing improved life standards to promote development and the use of measurement of wellbeing for effective and responsible policy decisions.


      The forum was attended by over 1000 participants from more than 70 nations including high level policy makers, heads of national statistical offices and international organizations as well as renowned researchers. There were in-depth discussions covering four domains of physical living conditions, quality of life, differences in wellbeing by an internet population group and sustainability. The outcome of these discussions is expected to be further developed into an international agenda for determining the indicator framework and development goals with a focus on wellbeing and sustainability after 2015 in line with the completion of UN’s MDGs.
