1. Overview □ The e-commerce transaction value amounted to 220,908 billion won in the first quarter 2011. This figure rose by 20.9 percent from the first quarter 2010, but fell by 4.3 percent from the fourth quarter 2010.
2. E-commerce by sector (1) B2B E-commerce Transactions □ The supplier-driven type transaction value totaled 111,252 billion won in the first quarter 2011, up 18.3 percent from the first quarter 2010. The buyer-driven type transaction value amounted to 78,775 billion won in the first quarter 2011, up 29.6 percent from the first quarter 2010. The intermediary-driven type transaction value totaled 12,529 billion won in the first quarter 2011, up 36.7 percent from the first quarter 2010. (2) B2G E-commerce Transactions □ The transaction value of 'Purchase of goods and services' and 'Construction contract' declined 8.1 percent and 13.5 percent from the first quarter 2010, respectively.
3. Cyber Shopping □ Overview ○ The cyber shopping transaction value recorded 6,853 billion won in the first quarter 2011. This figure rose by 16.1 percent from the first quarter 2010, but fell by 2.9 percent from the fourth quarter 2010. □ Transaction Value by Group of Commodities ○ The transaction value of 'Food & beverages', 'Sports and leisure appliances' and 'Goods for infants and children' went up by 30.0 percent, 27.0 percent and 22.8 percent from the first quarter 2010. Whereas, the transaction value of 'Software' and 'Flowers' went down by 21.5 percent and 3.8 percent from the first quarter 2010. □ Composition by Group of Commodities ○ The share of 'Food & beverages' and 'Sports and leisure appliances' went up by 0.7%p and 0.3%p from the first quarter 2010, respectively. The share of 'Computer and computer-related appliances' and 'Travel arrangement and reservation services' went down by 0.9%p and 0.7%p from the first quarter 2010, respectively. □ Transaction Value by Coverage of Goods and Type of Operation ○ The total sales of general malls and specialized malls went up by 17.9 percent and 10.6 percent from the first quarter 2010, respectively. □ Composition by Payment Mode and by Delivery Mode ○ The transaction value of 'Credit cards', 'Money transfers' and 'E-money' occupied 72.5 percent, 24.1 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively. ※ For more information, refer to the attached file.
