According to the results of the Cyber Shopping Mall Survey, the number of establishments mainly dealing in retail e-commerce transactions between business and consumer (B2C) amounted to 3,082 as of February 2003, a rise of 86 establishments (2.9 percent) over the previous month.
The number of establishments included in the Cyber Shopping Mall Survey in February 2003 increased by 806 establishments (35.4 percent) over the same month last year, continuing its upward trend.

Total Transaction Value of Goods and Services

As of February 2003, the total sales of goods and services in cyber shopping malls amounted to 563.7 billion won, a decrease of 23.1 billion won (3.9 percent) over the previous month.
- The total sales of goods and services in February 2003 showed a decreasing trend, compared with that of the previous month. This setback was caused by the sharp decreases in agricultural·fishery products and food·beverage ·health foods which had made their large increments in the previous month by the seasonal demands for 'Seol' (Korean New Year's Day), diminishing the increases in books and cosmetics & perfumes.
- Of them, the B2C e-commerce sales reduced to 480.7 billion won by 16.8 billion won (3.4 percent) over the previous month.
The total sales of goods and services in February 2003 rose to 563.7 billion won by 125.5 billion won (28.6 percent) over 438.3 billon won of the same month last year.
