Definition
  • Maximum production capacity achieved when an establishment is operated under normal conditions(equipment, labor, production efficiency, etc.)
Commentary
  • Distinguished by maximum and optimal production capacities in according to production conditions.
  • The maximum production capacity is a theoretical production capacity under the assumptions that there are sufficient supply and demand for production factors, a market demand and a labor efficiency of 100%, on the other hand, the optimal production capacities refer to the maximum production capacities at work by considering the establishments' operating conditions, equipments and labor efficiency at work .
  • The optimal production capacity includes all facilities currently in operation and unintended idle facilities, which are capable of operating if there's a need, but excludes intended idle facilities and stand-by facilities.
  • However, the maximum production capacity also includes idle and stand-by facilities.
