Definition	A unit of observation refers to the level at which statistics are collected and organized. For this, production units should be established for homogeneous industrial activities and geographical location, autonomous decision making, and the possibility of data collection. A unit of analysis is a more detailed or integrated unit used for statistical analysis than a unit of observation. It includes a description unit, a homogeneous unit of production, etc. A statistical unit is different from a reporting unit that supplies data for a given survey. Although most of the time, a reporting unit is a business, an administrative office or an accounting firm can be the unit.
Commentary	A unit of observation or analysis for the data collected to compile statistics on activities of production units (production, financing activities, etc.)
