- In 2022, there were 372,939 deaths. The crude death rate stood at 727.6 deaths in 2022, rising by 17.6% from 2021.
- Top 3 causes of death were cancer, heart diseases and COVID-19. These 3 causes of death occupied 39.8% of the total deaths.
- The death rate of intentional self-harm dropped by 3.2% from 2021. Whereas, the death rate of dementia rose by 36.8% from 2021.
- The number of deaths from COVID-19 was 31,280 deaths. The deaths of people aged 80 or more occupied the largest share (65.6%) of deaths from COVID-19.
