The Deputy Director General for Short-term Economic Statistics was
established to strengthen the analysis of short-term economic
statistics. The Short-term Household Income and Expenditure
Statistics Division was established to expand the provision of
household economy-related statistics.

The Statistics Korea revised and reinforced its organization to cope
with changes in statistical environment and provide policy-tailored
statistical services through convergence and analysis of linkage
between statistical data and other various data.

According to the guideline on government reorganization, the team
system was abolished. 4 teams were promoted to Spokesperson,
Statistical Standards Division, Regional Accounts Statistics
Division and Geospatial Information Service Division. Performance
Management Team and Information Technology Service Team were
transferred to Planning and Budgeting Officer and Informatics
Planning Division, respectively.

The KOSTAT strengthens the statistical production system by using
administrative data for accurate and timely statistical production.
The Administrative Data Policy Division, the Administrative Data
Management Division and the Register-based Census Division are newly
established. And the KOSTAT reinforces the contingency plans.

To strengthen the capacity of statistical production, functions were
partially adjusted among Survey Management Bureau, Economic
Statistics Bureau, Population & Social Statistics Bureau, and
Informatics and Service Bureau. As more and more administrative data
were used for statistical activities, information security-related
responsibilities were reinforced. In addition, some operational
problems were improved.
