Title | Is a person considered employed for working just 1 hour during the reference period? |
---|---|
According to the ILO, employed persons are defined as those who worked at least one hour to make money during the reference period. While we often think of those who go to work for an establishment or those who are self-employed and work at least 5 days in a week as employed persons, but the ILO defined employed persons as all persons who worked at least one hour for income during the reference week regardless of their employment status. We use 1 hour as the basis because we need to identify all persons who worked for at least one hour as employed persons in order to compute gross domestic production based on gross labor input. |
