1. Internal Migration □ The number of internal migrants was 787 thousand persons in February 2011, which rose by 0.4 percent (3 thousand persons) from February 2010. □ The intra-province and inter-province migrants occupied 65.2 percent and 34.8 percent of the total internal migrants in February 2011, respectively. The proportion of intra-province migrants grew 0.7%p year-on-year. □ The internal migration rate (the number of migrants per 100 population) stood at 1.57 percent, remaining the same year-on-year. 2. Internal Migration for Provinces □ Regarding the net migration for provinces, 7 provinces had net in-migration: Gyeonggi (6,992 persons), Incheon (2,393 persons), Gwangju (1,262 persons) and so on. On the other hand, 9 provinces had net out-migration: Seoul (-3,597 persons), Jeonnam (-2,913 persons), Gyeongbuk (-1,790 persons) and so on. □ The rates of net migration for Incheon (0.09%), Gwangju (0.09%) and Gyeonggi (0.06%) were a plus net migration. On the other hand, the net migration rates for Jeonnam (-0.15%), Gangwon (-0.08%) and Gyeongbuk (-0.07%) were a minus net migration. ※ For more information, refer to the attached file. |
