Definition	Refers to purchases of necessary tangible assets by an establishment for its production process
Commentary	For convenience, land, buildings, etc. are all included in general survey statistics . Plant and equipment investments in derived statistics, such as GDP, etc., only include structures, machinery equipments, ships and transport equipments which are conceptually in contrast with construction investments.
