- Most retailers take title to the goods they sell, but some don't take title to the goods they sell and act as agents for a principal and sell on a commission basis.
- In general, retail goods are sold to the general public in shops, department stores, stalls, but can also be sold by door-to-door sales persons, hawkers and peddlers, mail-order houses by telecommunication·post etc., marketing for customer attraction.
