- Regardless of the occurrence period of illness, it is calculated by dividing the number of population with illness by the total number of population of interest during the survey period.
- Interview surveys on morbidity rates are also conducted in advanced countries on a regular basis.
- Caution is required when using the morbidity rate since it is difficult to survey illness that the respondent is not aware of and it is sensitive to seasonal illness (e.g. flu, etc.). On the other hand, it has an advantage of generalizing the target survey population.
