Wages and salaries

Definition
  • Compensations received by the worker from the user for the labor and services rendered. It is comprised of regular wage, overtime pay and special pay.
Commentary
  • Regular wage: Amount of financial compensations provided for labor and services rendered during the normal working hours as prescribed in labor contract, labor collective agreement, payroll regulations of establishment, etc.
  • Overtime pay: Additional pay for hours of work in excess of the normal working hours.
  • Special pay: Provided on a regular and irregular basis to employees which include bonuses, term-ending allowances and allowances for working more than 3 months. The Monthly Labor Statistics Survey includes retroactive increases in wages in the special pay.
