Social Statistics Bureau
The Social Statistics Bureau has 7 divisions. The Bureau establishes & carries out basic plans for social statistics, produces & analyzes the Vital Statistics, plans & conducts the Economically Active Population Survey, plans & conducts the Household Income & Expenditure Survey, and plans & conducts agriculture and fishery surveys.

- Establishing and carrying out the basic plans for social statistics
- Analyzing social trends and social indicators
- Planning and conducting the Social Survey
- Establishing the production system of social indicators and producing social indicators
- Planning and conducting the Time Use Survey
- Planning and conducting the Survey of Private Education Expenditures
- Planning and conducting the Green Life Survey
- Planning and conducting the Survey on the Actual Condition of Welfare, Education, & Regional Development
- Producing and analyzing Statistics on the Aged, Women and the Youth
- Coordinating the extra works not managed by other divisions within the bureau
